Introduction
Polyethylene Glycol 1450 (PEG 1450) is a high-purity, non-ionic polymer derived from ethylene oxide, with an average molecular weight of approximately 1450. Supplied by The Dow Chemical Company under the CARBOWAX™ SENTRY™ brand, it is designed for pharmaceutical, personal care, and industrial formulations requiring consistent quality and safety.
PEG 1450 is a solid, wax-like material that exhibits excellent water solubility, lubricity, and humectant properties. It functions as a solvent, plasticizer, ointment base, and carrier, offering outstanding performance in creams, lotions, tablets, and other topical or oral dosage forms.
Its low toxicity, non-irritating nature, and biocompatibility make it ideal for use in cosmetics, healthcare, and pharmaceutical products.
