Preparation
Synthesis of 1-(4-methoxyphenethyl)-1H-benzimidazole-5-carboxylic acid derivatives was outlined in Scheme 1. 4-Fluoro-3-nitro-benzoic acid 1 was dissolved in dichloromethane (MDC). Methanol and thionyl chloride was added to it, and under reflux condition the compound 2 was formed.
