Preparation
A known method of producing 2-methylimidazole by reacting a 20% aqueous solution of ammonia for an hour with a mixture consisting of a 40% aqueous solution of glyoxal and acetaldehyde at a temperature of 40 ° C and further exposure of the reaction mass at 80 ° C for 2 hours
