Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI) is a very mild anionic surfactant widely used in personal care and cosmetic products. It is produced by reacting coconut fatty acids with isethionic acid, resulting in a surfactant that provides gentle cleansing with rich, creamy foam.SCI is well known for its excellent skin compatibility and low irritation, which makes it ideal for sensitive skin and baby care formulations. It is commonly used in syndet (synthetic detergent) bars, facial cleansers, shampoos, and body washes as a sulfate-free alternative to harsh surfactants.
