Refined Shea Butter is a plant‐derived fat obtained from the kernels of the shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa, also Butyrospermum parkii). It is produced by extracting raw shea butter and then refining, bleaching, and deodorizing it to remove color, odor, and impurities, resulting in a light‑colored, mild, neutral product suitable for sensitive skin and cosmetic applications. Compared with unrefined shea butter, many of the naturally occurring volatile compounds, vitamins, and minor phytonutrients are reduced during refining, but the main fatty lipid content remains intact.
