Applications

Quercetin is most commonly used for conditions of the heart and blood vessels and to prevent cancer. It is also used for arthritis, bladder infections, and diabetes, but there is no strong scientific evidence to support most of these uses.

Description

Quercetin is green yellow powder with bitter taste, slightly soluble in water, easily soluble in alkaline solvent. Usually quercetin refers to quercetin dihydrate. Moisture of quercetin dihydrate is 8%-12%, while it is less than 4% for quercetin anhydrous.

Preparation

A stock solution of quercetin was prepared by dissolving 10 mg of accurately weighed quercetin in methanol and making up the volume to 10 ml with methanol to get final concentration of 1000 μg/ml.

Chemical Properties

Quercetin anhydrous (98%) is a flavonoid with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, inhibiting oxidative stress and promoting cellular health.

INFORMATION OF Quercetin 98%:Quercetin dihydrate is a flavonoid with anticancer activity. Quercetin is a mitochondrial ATPase and phosphodiesterase inhibitor. It Inhibits PI3-kinase activity and slightly inhibits PIP kinase activity. Quercetin has antiproliferative effects on cancer cell lines, reduces cancer cell growth via type II estrogen receptors, and arrests human leukemic T cells in late G1 phase of the cell cycle
