Polyquaternium-10 is a water-soluble cationic cellulose derivative widely used in hair and skin care formulations as a conditioning, anti-static, and film-forming agent. Derived from hydroxyethyl cellulose reacted with quaternary ammonium compounds, it carries a positive charge, which allows it to bind to the negatively charged hair and skin surfaces.
Polyquaternium-10 is especially known for its ability to smooth hair cuticles, reduce frizz, improve wet and dry combing, and add softness and shine. It also forms a light protective film, providing conditioning and moisturizing effects.
