Cocamide DEA (Diethanolamine) is a nonionic surfactant and foam booster derived from coconut fatty acids and diethanolamine. It is widely used in shampoos, body washes, liquid soaps, and bubble baths to enhance foam stability, viscosity, and cleansing performance.
Cocamide DEA is known for its thickening and emulsifying properties, helping formulations achieve a creamy texture and rich lather. However, due to safety concerns regarding potential nitrosamine formation, its use has been restricted or reduced in many modern cosmetic formulations, and alternatives like Cocamide MEA or Cocamidopropyl Betaine are often preferred.
